Discover the modern possibilities of an ancient craftsmanship!
Upon your arrival at the workshop, you will be warmly greeted by Carine. She will start by introducing you to the space while sharing her own journey. You will also learn the basics of wood marquetry, including the essential tools and materials.
As this session is dedicated to creating a frame, you will then have the opportunity to choose the design and wood species that resonate with you from Carine's selection.
The artisan will then guide you through the meticulous process of cutting and assembling the wood veneer, piece by piece, bringing your design to life. Along the way, she will provide you with valuable tips and insights into working with wood. All that's left is to put everything together and position the pieces on the frame!
In the end, you will leave with a stunning frame showcasing your unique marquetry, which will not only enhance your interior but also bring a vintage touch to it!

Wood marquetry specialist
Carine, the daughter of a cabinet maker, grew up surrounded by the scent of glue and sawdust. She initially pursued studies in communication and marketing, which she financed through a job in the restaurant industry. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for the craft, which she dedicated herself to for fifteen years!
However, back problems eventually forced Carine to leave the restaurant industry. As she searched for a new career path, furniture restoration emerged as a natural choice, combining her love for wood and her desire to breathe new life into objects.
Today, Carine works in a beautiful workshop located at the back of a vintage Italian furniture store, nestled in the heart of Sablon. Diligent and patient, she is eager to share her expertise and also change the perception of marquetry, which enables the creation of fantastic works of art!

Un tout grand merci Carine! Difficile de ne pas apprécier ton atelier, ton accueil, ta gentillesse et ta patience. J ai maintenant, et grâce à tes astuces, un joli cadre chez moi, et une belle photo de mon « œuvre » à envoyer à mes collègues qui ont eu l idée de me faire découvrir la marqueterie. J espère à bientôt pour une nouvelle création.

Très agréable atelier.Carine nous a appris beaucoup sur tous les bois précieux et exotiques utilisés en marqueterie. C'est un travail très méticuleux et délicat, fragile. On ne se l’imagine pas au prime abord. Carine a aussi une patience sans limite pour s’occuper de novices comme nous 😉.On n’a, en tous cas, pas vu le temps passer ; mon mari et moi sommes très fiers du résultat.

Super atelier auquel j’ai participé avec ma mère qui était également enchantée de cette découverte, Carine est très pédagogue et patiente et a su nous faire partager sa passion du métier ! On repart avec notre « petit chef d’œuvre » et l’envie de recommencer.

Un atelier très intéressant. En plus de plusieurs plaquages différents, naturelles et colorées. Il y a aussi du temps pour discuter de la technique que nous utilisons mais aussi des autres techniques existantes. Un atelier très instructif et agréable. Merci

Magnifique atelier ! Merci Carine pour ton accueil et ta générosité. J'ai adoré découvrir les différents plaquages, choisir mes coloris, apprendre à utiliser les outils et voir naître un papillon sous mes doigts d'apprentie. Je reviens bientôt, c'est sûr ;)

Super moment passé ! J'ai été émerveillée par les différents bois, les motifs infinis et l'incroyable patience de Carine qui a à cœur que l'on reparte satisfaite de sa création. Un univers à découvrir !
