I had the most pleasant Sunday afternoon at Erna's studio, weaving my own cushion yesterday. Everyone was very welcoming, the process was explained very clearly and then I was on my way, knowing that Erna and her team were at hand to help. I found it a very relaxing and satisfying activity, even as an absolute beginner. And I met such interesting and creative people too. I am looking forward to my next weaving session.

Thanks so Erna, I had such a great time! Freeweaver Studio is a lovely, welcoming place and Erna and Saffy are so knowledgeable and helpful.
I decided to keep my weaving flat rather than make it into a cushion.

I had a wonderful time weaving my own textile to be made into a cushion. I was made to feel very welcome and it was immediately relaxing and enjoyable to select yarns, learn to wind bobbins and operate the loom and to work on my cloth. The choice of colours and textures of yarns and other weavable materials was vast and I really enjoyed experimenting with colour and texture. I was so delighted with my finished cushion; I get pleasure from seeing it at home and knowing this beautiful, colourful cushion is my own unique make. Janine was a great teacher and was on hand to help or even just make a cuppa. The interns who were also weaving that day were really welcoming and enthusiastic and showed me what they were working on when I asked. I’m certain I’ll visit again!

I had a great time in the studio, learning how to weave. I loved it. I loved all of the yarns and threads and trims that we could add in. Janine was a good guide and teacher. It was also fun to see three students in there working on projects for their university courses. Such talent. I look forward to returning for another session or three on the looms.
I highly recommend this activity!!

I had a lovely afternoon weaving for the first time!
The studio is beautiful, with plenty of light and a pretty cool 'wall of yarn' (where you can choose from your favorite colors!).
I spent about 3 hours+ there to make my cushion - learning how to use the saori loom (quite easy and relaxing) and then having a nice chat with Erna Janine while she was adding the finishing touch to my creation!
It feels super satisfying to go back home with something you made, and I am so glad I received this workshop as a gift.
I strongly recommend it!

We attended the ‘weave your own cushion’ at Erna Janine’s studio yesterday and absolutely loved it. We were instructed on how to use the saori loom (it’s quite simple) and Janine was on hand all the way to help if needed. The choice of yarn is almost limitless and within 2 hours we had each woven our own unique fabric which was then made into a cushion. Delighted with the results and the most enjoyable afternoon. Will go back and hopefully make something more challenging that I can turn into a garment. Thank you Janine
