Ideal for the curious and photography enthusiasts, this workshop led by Sander invites you to explore the art of black and white printing.

You'll start with an introduction to the basics of film photography, focusing on the development process and the specifics of black and white. Sander will guide you through the preparation of images from plants or your own photographs to create unique and personal compositions.

You will then learn how to use the tools and techniques needed to produce your prints. Each step will be explained and guided, from choosing paper to developing in the darkroom. You will have the opportunity to create between four and six prints, in formats to suit you and the ideas you want to bring to life.

Whether you're a beginner or already familiar with argentic photography, this monthly workshop is an excellent opportunity to perfect your skills or discover a different artistic approach. Come away with your own creations and a better understanding of this timeless art form!

Workshop location

The studio is 25 minutes by public transport from the centre of Brussels.

This place is not accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Practical information

N'oubliez pas d'apporter un classeur A4 pour emporter chez vous les résultats de l'atelier.
Ne portez pas vos vêtements les plus récents, car nous travaillons également à l'extérieur et utilisons des produits chimiques.

Vous pouvez préparer l'atelier en apportant les négatifs noir et blanc que vous avez encore. Vous pouvez également apporter un appareil photo analogique que nous pourrons éventuellement utiliser pendant l'atelier.

Avant l'atelier, je vous demande de préparer votre itinéraire à l'avance. Notre atelier se trouve dans le bâtiment D sur le site d'Ur'Square.

Très chouette atelier avec Sander et un groupe dynamique. Pleins d'informations données sur quelques heures mais qui permettent de comprendre enfin les mystère du la photo de l'appareil au papier.

J'ai eu la chance de participer à un atelier en petit comité explorant l'art du tirage argentique, en passant des explications détaillées de Sander sur l'appareil argentique et les paramètres de lumière et d'exposition, à la prise de photo en extérieur, jusqu'au développement en chambre noire. J'ai trouvé que Sander s'est montré particulièrement disponible pour répondre à toutes mes questions et pour me donner des conseils et astuces afin de gagner en originalité dans ma prise de photo. L'ambiance était agréable et assez intime, puisque nous n'étions que 3. J'ai bcp apprécié cet atelier, ainsi que la gentillesse et la disponibilité de Sander. Encore un grand merci à lui ! Je recommande à toutes et tous les passionné·e·s de photographie par argentique, de tenter l'expérience !
