The workshop in detail
Sophie, Mathilde and their team invite you into her beautiful R-Use Fabrik workshop for a few hours to pass on their passion for fashion and tell you all about upcycling.
After a presentation explaining the R-Use Fabrik project and its philosophy, the team will offer you the choice from a lovely selection of fabrics to make your bucket hat.
Once the fabric has been chosen, it is time to cut it following the patterns and to sew ! The team will be present during each step of the creation of your bucket hat, and will provide instruction as you make it.
Finally, you can add some nice finishing touches to your bucket hat! And there you have it, a new accessory that will add a boost of style to your next outfit!
Workshop location
Sophie, Mathilde and their team's workshop is located in Ixelles, right next to the cemetery. It can be reached by public transport (train, tram, bus and metro).

Meet Sophie, Mathilde & co
Seamstresses and embroiderers
Mathilde and Sophie are both converts. Mathilde, a former lawyer, had already stopped practising law in order to start up a soup bar. As for Sophie, she had already launched her own bed linen brand.
However, both being passionate about sewing and embroidery, they decided to set everything else aside in order to launch R-Use, an association that brings together a collective of artisans who are committed to upcycling. All of them want to contribute to altering our means of consumption, moving tend towards a more sustainable and responsible economy, while promoting upcycling.
What they like most of all is to share their passion and to use this passion to raise awareness of ecology, through workshops.
They will welcome you into their beautiful workshop, located in Ixelles - a lovely space with a coffee area, a large room for the fabric library, an inner courtyard, and a large room dedicated to workshops! Passionate, with a skill for teaching, each of the craftsmen who welcome you in will ensure a moment that will not be forgotten. Meet them!

J'ai eu la chance de rencontrer une passionnée dans un cadre vraiment surprenant. L'ambiance du groupe était très agréable, et les résultats de nos projets étaient à la fois beaux et originaux. C'est incroyable de penser que nous sommes tous repartis avec notre propre Bob sur la tête, surtout compte tenu de nos niveaux de connaissance de la couture plutôt basiques au départ. Les hommes sont les bienvenus, et je les encourage vraiment à s'inscrire. En résumé, cette formation a dépassé toutes mes attentes, m'offrant une aventure créative mémorable, et je suis ravi d'avoir fait partie de cette expérience unique.

J’ai adoré cet atelier du début à la fin! Je n’avais aucune connaissance en couture et je suis super satisfaite de ma création 🤗 Fabienne est une très bonne prof; elle est à l’écoute, réactive, sympa et donne de bons conseils! Je recommande!

L’atelier a été très chouette, Fabianne est gentil, sympa et toujours disponible pour offrir son aide ou des conseils. Plus, faire de l’upcycle en groupe c’est une belle expérience. Je recommande avec les yeux fermés ! ♥️

Nous avons passé une super soirée dans l'atelier ! Anouk est très patiente, créative et super sympa ! Si comme nous, vous avez peu (pas?) d'expérience en couture, n'hésitez pas à passer moins de temps dans le choix des tissus pour avoir tout le temps nécessaire dans l'atelier pour réaliser votre bob ;-) à bientôt

Atelier très agréable qui permet un belle pause de calme dans nos vies parfois bien trop rythmées. Fabienne s'est montrée très douce et patiente...bel apprentissage que nous avons partagé entre mère et fille. Merci pour ce moment et pour les beaux bobs dont nous profitons maintenant ;-)
