Step inside the workshop run by Sophie, Mathilde and their team and discover the wonderful world of upcycling! It's in their lovely premises that you'll be introduced to sewing, working alongside these volunteers who are committed to upcycling and the circular economy.
First, the artisans will show you around the premises and introduce the approach adopted by their association.
Then, it's time to talk about sewing! Explanations regarding the sewing machine and sewing will be provided, for example: how to use a machine, what are the different stitches, spot tacking...
Once you are familiar with the various terms, it's time to get practising!
You will start by choosing the fabrics from the lovely selection in the fabric library. Once you've chosen your favourite fabrics, you'll set up at the machine and start sewing your makeup remover wipes.
Sophie, Mathilde, and their team will of course be at your side to guide you through each stage of creation, demonstrating their fine teaching capabilities, but most of all, their passion!
You will leave this workshop with your own upcycled makeup remover wipes and, most importantly, the desire to consume better!
Workshop location
Sophie, Mathilde and their team's workshop is located in Ixelles, right next to the cemetery. It can be reached by public transport (train, tram, bus and metro).

L'atelier était top et facile à suivre. Nous avons été mises à l'aise directement et avons pu poser toutes nos questions. Le tout dans la bonne humeur ! Personnellement, ça m'a vraiment donné envie de recommencer.

Un grand merci pour cet atelier couture zéro déchet. C’était vraiment très gai d’apprendre à réaliser une lingette de A à Z : choisir les tissus, les couper à l’aide d’un patron, les maintenir en place avec des épingles fines, comprendre l'importance du repassage, puis les assembler à la machine. J’ai particulièrement aimé découvrir les bases de la couture sur machine électrique, dans une ambiance détendue et bienveillante. Et pour finaliser le tout, nous avons appris le surfilage, cette étape essentielle qui permet de renforcer et d’éviter que le tissu ne s’effiloche. Un atelier à la fois concret, utile et très agréable, grâce à l'approche pédagogique et bienveillante de Sophie, je recommande vivement !

Très belle expérience et très pédagogue. Présente et patiente pour chacun d'entre nous. Je recommande cette atelier. Personne n'est mis de côté. Ça m'a réconcilié avec les cours de couture suite à une mauvaise expérience. Je suis une novice et on a commencé par quelque chose de simple.
