Enter the wonderful world of ceramics with Anna and (re)discover hand-building and decorating techniques in this full-day workshop.

The day begins with a warm welcome from Anna, a passionate ceramicist. After a brief introduction, she will present the different types of clay and introduce you to the fascinating world of ceramics.

You'll start by exploring basic hand-building techniques, such as slab work and the pinch technique, as well as decorative approaches to personalize your pieces.

You’ll discover the entire production process from start to finish, transforming a ball of clay into beautifully crafted items. Over two 3-hour sessions on the same day, you’ll create up to four unique pieces. You’ll learn two primary techniques: the pinch technique with porcelain for creating hollow forms like cups, bowls, or mugs, and the slab technique using speckled stoneware clay, ideal for flat pieces such as plates, small trays, or boards. This clay is a beautiful material, speckled with tiny flecks of pyrite.

Once your pieces are completed, Anna will take care of the glazing and firing. A few weeks later, you can come back to the workshop to pick up your creations, once the firing process is complete.

Lunch is organized in a friendly potluck style where everyone brings a culinary specialty, homemade or from a favorite spot. Weather permitting, lunch can be enjoyed in the garden, with drinks provided by the workshop. A fridge and microwave are available, and coffee and tea are served throughout the day.

This workshop is offered in French only.

L’atelier est accessible en transport en commun : arrêt Orban (bus 49 et 50, et tram 82). Depuis la gare du midi : 15 minutes à pied, 7 minutes en transports publics, 4 minutes en voiture. Parking payant de 9h à 18h du lundi au samedi. Gratuit le dimanche et les jours fériés

Practical information

To participate in this workshop, please wear comfortable clothing suitable for the activity and for cleanup at the end—leggings or trousers are ideal. It’s also recommended to have short nails and to tie back your hair. If possible, please bring your own apron.

Très chouette atelier avec Anna ! Une journée hors du stress de tous les jours .... Anna est passionnée par son métier et transmet son savoir-faire avec beaucoup de patience et de bienveillance. Dommage que ce soit trop loin pour moi pour y continuer des ateliers en semaine, car j'ai vraiment adoré et cela m'aurait beaucoup plu de continuer à apprendre avec Anna.

Super weekend dans l'atelier d'Anna. Le petit groupe permet à tout le monde d'être accompagné dans ses créations personnelles. Après ces deux sessions, je n'ai qu'une envie : de recommencer.
