Michel will welcome you in his studio for a few hours of initiation to woodworking, in particular to half-wood assembly.

The discovery of the place, some theoretical bases on woodworking and the tools used will start the session, you will go from the raw material to the finished product and discover truing, planing, tracing, sawing, notching and gluing.

After a brief presentation of traditional wood assemblies (mortise and tenon, half-wood, straight tail, dovetail, etc.), it will be your turn to play!

You will learn how to trace your assemblies, the key to precision, and then how to cut them with a saw and chisel because yes, everything is done by hand! It is by repeating the gestures that you will learn to master them with the necessary rigour.

You will leave this workshop with new knowledge, but also with a beautiful wooden trivet.

Atelier vraiment super : ambiance détendue, groupe sympa, et un encadrement très attentif. J’ai adoré apprendre à travailler le bois sous l’œil attentif et les bons conseils de Michel, manipuler les couteaux et assembler différentes essences pour créer un sous-plat unique 😀 Un moment très agréable, riche en découvertes et histoire de la rue Haute et de ses habitants. Un atelier parfaitement organisé. Je recommande vivement.

Michel est un personnage haut en couleur, très passionné par son métier et les marolles. Atelier très plaisant, offrant la possibilité de découvrir des techniques de base. Suis partante pour un second round!

l'Atelier "techniques d'assemblage du bois" avec Michel a été une expérience à la fois agréable et très enrichissante. Nous avons réalisé un projet de A à Z, permettant de comprendre la préparation, l'exécution et le 'comment faire" avec les outils de base d'un atelier de menuiserie. En plus, Michel - très pédagogue - nous a raconté plein de choses sur le bois, et également sur l'histoire de ce quartier des Marolles où l'ébénisterie se trouve. Un moment de partage et de transmission de connaissances bien apprécié!
