Michel will welcome you in his studio for a few hours of initiation to woodworking, in particular to half-wood assembly.

The discovery of the place, some theoretical bases on woodworking and the tools used will start the session, you will go from the raw material to the finished product and discover truing, planing, tracing, sawing, notching and gluing.

After a brief presentation of traditional wood assemblies (mortise and tenon, half-wood, straight tail, dovetail, etc.), it will be your turn to play!

You will learn how to trace your assemblies, the key to precision, and then how to cut them with a saw and chisel because yes, everything is done by hand! It is by repeating the gestures that you will learn to master them with the necessary rigour.

You will leave this workshop with new knowledge, but also with a beautiful wooden trivet.

Très chouette atelier avec Michel. Il a bien pris le temps de nous apprendre les premières bases du travail manuel du bois (scie, ciseaux, sens de travail du bois selon les fibres, comment éviter ou rattraper des erreurs, comment manier certains outils,...) afin d'avancer dans notre ouvrage. En plus de cela il nous a expliqué plusieurs anecdotes sur les essences de bois, l'évolution des outils de menuiserie, son atelier,... Le temps est passé trop vite 😉 Pour les plus aguerris il est possible d'aller plus loin et réaliser d'autres branches au sous-plat. Merci !

Pas uniquement un atelier pour travailler le bois, mais aussi une occasion d'apprendre énormément de choses sur toute une série de sujets liés de près ou de loin au matériau et au métier d'ébéniste. Bref, un atelier très enrichissant à tout point de vue.

Un atelier très agréable dans un cadre très chaleureux et bruxellois. Une technique simple et complexe aux même temps. Comme débutant j’ai beaucoup appris. Cours à recommander si vous voulez vous lancer dans la menuiserie hobby. Merci!

Michel a vraiment pris le temps de nous montrer les rudiments de son métier, qu'il transmet avec bienveillance et passion. Les informations sont riches et claires, il aime transmettre les secrets de son quartier. En plus d'apprendre des gestes techniques, on repart de l'atelier en s'étant vraiment bien amusés, riche d'échanges et avec un support pour bouteilles de vin qui défie la gravité ! Je conseille à quiconque veut découvrir le travail traditionnel du bois !
