The workshop in detail
Find out all about Marc's traditional and woody world and learn how to make your own wooden bowls!
First, Marc will show you around his workshop: he will introduce you to wood varieties and explain the wood lathe technique, as well as the tools he uses on a daily basis.
It will then be your turn to use these tools during an initial introductory session. The day will be split in two, either side of a friendly lunch break* with Marc.
The afternoon will continue with the resumption of woodworking: you will learn how to roughen your piece and then hollow it out to form a bowl. You will repeat the process twice, thus producing a pair of bowls!
You will also be responsible for adding the finishing touches, starting with sanding and finishing with the application of an oil, wax, or varnish.
You will leave this beautiful workshop spent in the company of a super enthusiast with your two wooden bowls, made with your own two hands!

Meet Marc
Woodturner
Passionate about wood, Marc was just 14 years old when he began his training in carpentry and cabinet making. At 24, he launched his own cabinet making and interior woodworking business. He became an expert: he knows everything there is about wood and works it in all its forms.
A few years later, his curiosity and passion led him to train on the wood lathe, as well as in the field of wood carving.
Marc loves detail and produces stunning pieces. In his large workshop, filled to the brim with different varieties of wood and various works in progress, he now passes on his expertise with determination and a respect for tradition!

J'ai passé un après-midi formidable en compagnie de Marc : après une démonstration du projet par ses soins, vous découvrez d'abord la prise en main des outils, puis il vous conseille sur les aspects techniques, avec patience et bienveillance. J'ai pu réaliser mon rêve d'apprendre à tourner et je repars avec l'envie d'en découvrir davantage. Merci beaucoup !

J’ai passé une super après-midi avec Marc. Il est passionné, didacte et patient. Je suis très content des réalisations que j’ai créées et d’avoir pu entendre Marc me partager des anecdotes de sa longue carrière.

Tellement fiers d'avoir réalisé mes premiers bols en bois sous l’œil expert de Marc. Un atelier privé qui vous permet de prendre connaissance et de pouvoir goûter d'un art à votre rythme. Puisque je ne suis pas si pratique c'était une expérience du style "incroyable mais vraie" pour moi. Gestion du temps parfaite, très bon professeur et une personnalité très agréable et chaleureuse avec beaucoup de patience (ce qui a parfois été nécessaire pour m’apprendre les bon mouvements). Un avantage supplémentaire de cet atelier est que l’ensemble se déroule dans un endroit calme sans problèmes de stationnement. De deskundigheid van de leraar maakt ook dat dit atelier prima toegankelijk is voor iedereen ongeacht de kennis van de tweede landstaal. Zeker een aanrader !!!
