The workshop in detail
Discover Charlène's cosy and creative world by knitting your own scarf!
You will be welcomed by the artisan with a drink. The workshop will begin in this intimate and friendly atmosphere.
Then, the expert will introduce you to her world of yarns and needles, showing you her incredible knitting machine and the infinite possibilities of creations it will offer. You will learn the basic stitches, with precise and delicate gestures.
The next step is for you to play with the soft, fluffy wool. Choose your favourite colour palette and start creating your own unique scarf. Let yourself be carried away by the hypnotic rhythm of knitting, which slowly becomes a meditative and relaxing activity.
Finally, after knitting for a few hours, you will finish your scarf.
You will not only leave with a soft and fluffy scarf knitted by your own hands, but a new creative and meditative skill that will allow you to escape from the daily stress !

Meet Charlène
Textile designer
Charlène is a talented artist who has taken an amazing journey to achieve her dreams!
Her academic background reflects her commitment and passion for textiles: a Master's degree in Knitwear Design from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design from the Haute École Francisco Ferrer, also in Brussels, and a BTS in Textile Design from the École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et du Textile in Roubaix.
After a difficult period in her professional life, the textile designer launched her own brand. Through her experience in the fashion industry, she became aware of the harmful effects of this industry on the environment.
She then chose to follow her lifelong passion for design, using only local and recycled materials to give life to her drawings, decorative objects, textiles and candles.
Her brand Contrastes art & design is named after the importance of contrasts in artistic creation. The designer believes that contrasts allow her to highlight a creation's different facets and evoke emotions in people.
Charlène uses her skills in textile design, styling, knitting and candle-making to create unique and inspiring creations. She is a curious, playful, creative and multi-talented person who likes to share her skills through workshops!

Très chouette atelier. Charlène nous a accueillies chaleureusement et nous a guidées avec efficacité et maîtrise pour faire une belle écharpe et découvrir le fonctionnement et l'utilisation de la machine à tricoter et aussi son expérience passionnante dans le design textile ! Les fils proposées étaient doux et beaux... Un grand merci Charlène !

Très chouette atelier avec Charlène. Une jeune artiste passionnée par ce qu'elle fait. Elle nous a fait découvrir ce qu'est le travail du textile et plus précisément de la maille. Une activité originale avec un outil peu connu. Les explications claires et la patience de Charlène sont idéales pour faire une jolie écharpe.

Charlene kindly welcomes you in her personal creative space which is various. She is clearly technically and creatively skilled in different areas and techniques. She explains and helps very well. I highly recommend this workshop.
