PRIVATE WORKSHOP: experience a privileged moment with the artisan and benefit from a personalized coaching to make a unique creation!
During this two-day immersion, you will learn how to make your own large custom-made rug with Pauline, textile designer.
The first day will last a total of 9 hours, with a one-hour lunch break.
Pauline will start by explaining the different steps of the workshop. You will be familiarised with the material and the tufting technique.
You will learn how to prepare the frame that will serve as a basis for your creation before starting to compose the design. Between shapes, colours and reliefs, you can create the carpet of your dreams!
With the tufting gun in hand, you will begin to create the carpet.
You will place natural latex to seal it and it will dry overnight.
The next day will be reserved for the finishing touches. In addition, you will add a layer of finishing fabric to the back of the piece and shave the carpet pile.
After this immersion in the world of tufting, you will leave with your large custom-made carpet to spice up your living room!
Please note that it is preferable to have a basic knowledge of tufting to participate in this workshop, but it is not compulsory.

Meet Pauline
Textile Designer
Being creative, Pauline has always found a thousand things to do with her hands!
She has a background in photography and made a living out of this passion until she found herself confined during the pandemic, without any professional missions. She discovered tufting during this period. It was love at first sight! She tufts regularly and creates for herself. Her first street-side atelier drew the public, who became her first buyers. This is how her hobby turned into a passionate business!
Her creations are mainly made with natural materials such as natural latex but also with wool from sheep from Brussels.
Sparkling and creative, she welcomes you in her cosy atelier near the one of Pauline, artisan weaver at Wecandoo. A real wool factory!
