The workshop in detail
Immerse yourself in the world of beekeeping with Hubert and discover how to make delicious honey!
Firstly, Hubert will explain everything about the life of the bees, pollination, and beekeeping. Then, put on your gloves and a suit and head out to visit and observe the hives.
Once you're there, it's time for action! Light the smoker, open the hive, and examine the frames. Then, collect honey directly from the frames before heading to the honey house.
In the honey house, you'll prepare the frames before putting them in the manual press to extract the precious and delicious nectar. To finish, transfer your honey to a jar and then leave proudly with your very own honey in tow!
Important information: During this outdoor workshop, you will be in contact with bees! It is therefore strongly recommended to bring a bottle of water per person and to dress accordingly: long-sleeved top, long trousers and closed shoes.

Hubert's workshop is located 15 minutes by car from Charleroi and can also be reached by Tram line number 3.

Meet Hubert & co
Beekeeper
Hubert grew up in the countryside and had a very happy, fulfilled childhood. He later moved to a city to pursue his studies and quickly realised how disconnected people are from nature. It was a shock and marked the beginning of his vocation!
He worked as a teacher for around a decade but then decided to go back to what made him happy: being in contact with nature. It was at this time that he changed direction and trained as a beekeeper. He then launched his current endeavour, which allows him to combine his two passions: education and beekeeping. Today, he owns two apiaries: one in Uccle and one in Jumet.
His current wish is to reconnect everyone with nature and raise awareness of bees' needs. But what he likes most of all is sharing his knowledge and ecological approach! An extremely attentive teacher with a great sense of humour, he'll show you all the ins and outs of his craft.
