Join Alice for an introductory throwing workshop and learn the basics of this ceramic technique. Throwing involves using the potter's wheel to shape the clay using centrifugal force.

During this session Alice will guide you through each step of the process. You'll start by centring the clay on the wheel, then learn how to shape it to create a bowl or cup. Alice will explain the essential gestures needed to succeed at this stage and will give you practical tips throughout the workshop.

After throwing, your creations will be taken through the next stages: firing and glazing, according to your colour preferences. Once your pieces are finished, you'll be able to pick them up and use them.

Come and discover the throwing technique with Alice and go home with an object you've made with your own hands!

N.B. If you'd like to take things a step further, there's also an enamelling course to personalise your creations.

L'atelier d'Alice se situe à deux pas de la station de métro Pigalle.

Practical information

Pour participer à cet atelier, prévoyez de porter une tenue confortable adaptée à la pratique et au nettoyage en fin d’atelier, de type legging ou pantalon. Il est également préférable d’avoir les ongles courts et les cheveux attachés. Enfin, si vous le pouvez, pensez à apporter votre propre tablier.

Veuillez noter que lors de la cuisson des pièces, il existe un risque de casse. Ce sont les aléas du métier et l'artisan n'en est pas responsable.

Super atelier ! Les explications sont claires, on est accompagnés sur toutes les étapes du tournage, on réalise 2 ou 3 pièces puis on choisit sa préférée pour qu'elle soit cuite et émaillée (blanc) par l'équipe de l'atelier ! Point négatif : les 2h30 passent beaucoup trop vite...

Initiation au tour absolument parfaite !!! Hélène est d'une grande pédagogie et patience, elle réussit à transmettre sa passion et encadre le groupe avec beaucoup de bienveillance. L'atelier est très joli, et le matériel au top. Le temps de l'atelier a filé très vite, nous avons adoré l'expérience ! Cela nous a donné envie de refaire de la poterie. Un grand merci !!!
