Learn to tuft with Olivia

Discover the art of tufting with Olivia!

After a warm welcome, this passionate artisan will explain the basics of her craft and how the session will unfold.

Before you get started, you'll practice on a sample screen to master the tufting gun. A wide range of coloured wool will be available, so if you have a particular colour in mind, don't hesitate to let Olivia know before you arrive.

You will then have the opportunity to make a 38x48cm frame or a 40x60cm rug.

Following Olivia's instructions, you'll start by stretching your fabric over the frame. 

You can then let your creativity run wild by drawing the design of your choice. Olivia will guide you every step of the way, tracing outlines or filling in shapes with regular lines.

Finally, you'll fix your work in place with glue before adding a finishing fabric. 

All that's left to do is shave your creation to give it a smooth, even finish and add some relief.
