Your handcrafted wooden sustainable brush

The workshop in detail

  • 3h30
  • 15 years min.
  • 1 to 4 participants
  • Up to 5 people for a privatization
  • Step into our workshop and immerse yourself in the world of sustainable craftsmanship. We'll start with a brief introduction to the materials we work with and their eco-friendly origins. Your safety is our priority, so we'll also cover the proper usage of tools in a general safety meeting.

Now comes the fun part! Select the perfect piece of reclaimed wood for your brush and let your imagination run wild. Whether you envision a decorative masterpiece or a practical tool, you have the freedom to custom draw your brush shape or use our stencils for inspiration.

With the guidance of our skilled Harry and Johanna, you'll cut out your brush shape using our precision bandsaw and carefully refine it through sanding. Every detail matters, so take your time to achieve the desired smoothness and finesse.

Next, it's time to determine the bristle layout for your brush. Mark the ideal spots on your brush and skilfully drill holes to accommodate the bristle bunches. Don't worry, we'll assist you every step of the way.

As we approach the final stages, your brush will undergo sanding to achieve its ultimate finish. A touch of mineral oil will be applied, allowing it to dry gracefully before the bristles are added.

Get ready to embrace the bristle-making process! Using loose tampico plant fibre bristles and cotton thread, you'll create your very own bristle bunches. With precision and care, these bristle bunches will find their place in the holes you've prepared, completing the transformation of your brush.

Why is this workshop so special? Not only will you unleash your creativity and learn valuable craftsmanship skills, but you'll also be making a positive impact on the environment. By using reclaimed wood and eco-friendly materials, you'll be contributing to a more sustainable future.

You'll leave our workshop with your very own handcrafted brush, a true testament to your creativity and dedication. It's a unique and practical keepsake that you can proudly use or display in your home.
