Welcome to Dilara's studio, in the Traditional Turkish Arts Centre in London.
Dilara originally studied Sociology but followed her passion for Art. Your workshop with Dilara will begin with an introduction to erbu paper marbling, an ancient technique which appeared in Turkey in the 15th Century, explaining the materials and processes involved.
Participants then get hands-on experience, learning how to dot paint onto the water surface to create backgrounds and how to use the "biz" (needle) to create detailed patterns. Each person spends time at different trays, practising intricate floral patterns.
Under Dilara's guidance, you will create three final paper pieces using these techniques.
Whether you're new to art or an experienced enthusiast, everyone can enjoy and learn in Dilara's studio. Join for an engaging experience in traditional Turkish art and culture!
