  • Join Bora for four, three hour sessions and learn all about ceramic hand-building, where you'll create your very own teapot from start to finish! This workshop takes place over four consecutive Saturdays, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the creative process.

The first session begins with an introduction to Bora's Doppiocotto brand and the structure of the workshop. You'll dive into the basics of clay and hand-building techniques, focusing on the coil method. Bora will demonstrate how to shape and form the base of your teapot, and then it's your turn! With guidance, you'll begin to create the body of your unique teapot.

In the second week, you'll continue to shape and refine the body of your teapot to ensure it takes the shape you want. Bora will be on hand to offer tips and assistance as you begin to bring your vision to life.

Next week is all about the finer details! You'll learn how to create and attach the spout, add handles and design a perfectly fitting lid. Bora will give demonstrations on proportion and functionality to ensure that your teapot is as practical as it is beautiful. You'll also have the opportunity to add decorative elements such as textures and patterns to give your piece a personal touch.

The final session is dedicated to decoration. You'll be introduced to underglazes and different techniques for adding color and design to your teapot. Once you've finished decorating and made any final adjustments, you'll hand your teapot to Bora for glazing and firing.

Your teapot will be ready for collection within three weeks, or you can have it shipped for an additional fee.

This workshop is a fun and rewarding way to learn new skills, explore your creativity and take home a handmade piece! Note: The price of the workshop includes all the days defined in the description. Booking on the Wecandoo website only allows you to book the date of the first session. All subsequent sessions must be booked directly with the artisan.
