The workshop in detail

  • 5h
  • 15 years min.
  • 4 to 7 participants
  • Up to 7 people for a privatization
  • This workshop is a whole new take on upcycling, learning more technical methods of breathing new life into your clothes. Marie will guide you through the process of transforming your T-shirt into a stylish new garment.

Firstly, you'll need to bring your own old T-shirt. If you don't have one, Marie can provide one from her stock for a small fee on the day.

The workshop will begin with an introduction to Marie's studio and brand, giving you an insight into her creative process and inspirations. You'll discuss your connection to the chosen T-shirt and what you want it to become.

Next, Marie will teach you the basics of pattern making. You'll learn how to develop a pattern by partially draping it on a mannequin and making a paper pattern for the design applications you want to incorporate into your T-shirt. You'll then mark the pattern on your T-shirt to prepare it for cutting and draping.

Once the shirt is marked, you'll choose contrasting stitch colours for either an overlocker or hand needle, depending on your preference. Marie will demonstrate different sewing techniques and guide you as you sew and assemble your new creation.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have a finished T-shirt that showcases your personal style and the skills you've learned.

Come and share this experience with Marie! You'll leave with a unique garment and a deeper understanding of fashion design.
