Knowledge in garment making

Your new favourite garment

The workshop in detail

  • 6h
  • 15 years min.
  • 1 participant max
  • Up to 1 person for a privatization
  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own fabric to personalise their experience. However, for those who do not have fabric, there is an option to purchase it on the day of the workshop.

This engaging 6-hour workshop, hosted by Claire, offers a unique opportunity for attendees to delve into the world of garment creation. Set in a well-equipped studio and led by Claire, a skilled tailor with a rich background in fashion, this workshop is designed to guide participants through the process of creating a bespoke garment.

The workshop begins with an introduction to Claire and the studio, setting the stage for a day filled with creativity and learning.

One of the key steps in this workshop is tracing around a shape to create a pattern. This essential skill in garment making allows participants to understand the basics of pattern design and how it translates to the final piece of clothing. Following this, attendees will cut the new fabric, applying the pattern they have created to produce their replica garment.

The final and perhaps most exciting part of the workshop involves using a sewing machine to bring the garment to life. Participants will have the chance to apply their newly learned skills to create their favourite garment with the fabric they have chosen or purchased. This hands-on experience is not only rewarding but also empowers attendees with the knowledge and confidence to continue exploring garment creation beyond the workshop.

This workshop is ideal for anyone interested in understanding the fundamentals of garment making, from pattern design to sewing. Claire's expert guidance ensures that participants receive a comprehensive and enjoyable learning experience.
