Your set of reclaimed wood ocean resin coasters

The workshop in detail

  • 2h
  • 15 years min.
  • 4 to 6 participants
  • Up to 8 people for a privatization
  • Join Jim in his wood workshop as you create your very own set of stunning ocean-inspired coasters.

Jim begins the session by sharing his passion for woodworking and his commitment to using reclaimed materials. He'll take you through the basics of working with wood and resin and introduce you to the techniques that bring these two elements together in perfect harmony.

You'll start by choosing your resin colour palette and deciding on the shape of your coasters. Then, with Jim's expert guidance, you'll design and layer the resin to create a marine effect.

Once the resin has hardened, Jim will add the finishing keys. He'll sand off any sharp edges, add a cork base for stability and make sure your coasters are ready to shine. Your bespoke creations will be delivered straight to your door for a small postage charge (£2.50 payable on the day).

Whether you're a craft novice or an experienced DIY enthusiast, this workshop promises to be a great experience!

    Meet Jim

    Wood worker

After two decades as a web developer in the technology industry, Jim decided to swap screens for sawdust and dive into his true passion - woodworking and furniture making.

When he's not in his workshop, Jim can often be found trail running or cycling through the picturesque South Downs, drawing inspiration from the natural beauty around him. For Jim, working with wood is not just a craft; it's a mindful practice that offers moments of creativity and tranquillity in a busy world.

Jim's workshops are about sharing this experience. Whether you're a complete beginner or already adept with tools, he looks forward to guiding you through the rewarding process of woodworking and helping you create something unique with your own hands!
