Learn about upcycling and create your own lamp as a group

Discover the possibilities of upcycling at this workshop by Tolhuijs Design! 

The workshop begins with a presentation on the work of Tolhuijs Design. Here you will discover how they transform waste materials into unique and high-quality design products. You will see examples of their work and gain insight into their creative process, a great source of inspiration before you get to work yourself.

Bastiaan and his team then show several lamps you can make during the workshop. They share the stories behind the waste materials used, explain what they normally do with these materials and how they are transformed into stylish lamps in the workshop. You have several options to choose from:

- An elegant bottle lamp, where you "pop" glass using fire and cold water

- The innovative lamp Hook'd, made from old suspension hooks, where you will learn 3D printing and modeling

- The atmospheric lamp Spool, created from an old reel, with a machine made by Tolhuijs' himself

Or do you go for your own design? Joris and Bastiaan would love to help you bring your idea to life!

Participants get the chance to get to work themselves under the guidance of experts like Joris and Bastiaan. They learn about different techniques, from electrical assembly to 3D assembly, and experience how satisfying it is to create something with their own hands. Each item made is not just a lamp, but a story of transformation and creativity.
