Meet Corinne.
Stained-glass artist
Villemur-sur-Tarn
Corinne hasn’t always been a stained-glass artist: previously an English teacher, trainer and translator, she eventually chose to follow her passion for glass. After obtaining her CAP in 2018, she worked for several other stained-glass studios before feeling the need to create her own pieces. Today, she is fully dedicated to stained-glass work, after a temporary return to teaching.
Her workshop, set up in the refurbished garage of her house, around 25 m², can be accessed from both inside and outside the home. Nestled in the old town of Villemur-sur-Tarn, in the historic centre, it’s a warm and welcoming space where tradition meets modernity. This is where Corinne creates bespoke pieces for private clients: small glass partitions, decorative windows, backlit frames… Each creation is designed to tell a story and blend harmoniously into its future setting.
Corinne also restores secular and religious stained-glass windows, as well as antique glazed doors and canopies, always with great attention to detail. Under the name Mateo Vitraux, she develops an artistic style that blends traditional know-how with contemporary creation. Her passionate journey, as well as her strong connection to materials and light, give her work a truly distinctive character.
