Always wanted to make your own carpet with a tufting gun? This is your chance!
Join Hannah for a workshop where you'll learn the basics of tufting and create your own bespoke rug of 30 by 40 cm.
During the workshop you'll spend a couple of hours familiarising yourself with the tufting process. Hannah will start by introducing you to the different tools involved and help you choose the right wool for your project. You'll also learn how to choose colours and textures to suit your design.
Once you have your materials, you'll start to create your design. You can choose any shape or pattern, as long as it fits the size of the rug. This step allows you to plan the piece you want to create.
Once your design is ready, you'll use a tufting gun to start making your rug. Hannah will guide you through each step, making sure you're confident and competent as you work on your project. You'll see your rug come together as you complete each section.
Once you've finished tufting, Hannah will add the finishing touches to make sure your rug is complete. A few days later, you'll be able to take your finished rug home, ready to add a personal touch to your space!

Hannah Emerson is the talented fiber artist behind Tethered Twine. With a passion for creating beautiful, tangible pieces, Hannah has been a creative soul since childhood. Her love for drawing, painting and creating friendship bracelets paved the way for her artistic journey.
After obtaining degrees in Psychology and Fine Arts, Hannah's interests in macrame, weaving and crochet blossomed. She began creating stunning wall hangings that eventually led her to sell her pieces online in 2019. But that's not all, Hannah is also a data analyst, balancing her time between work and her passion.
Hannah's cozy shared atelier is where the magic happens. She's always eager to teach and share her knowledge with anyone who wants to learn. It's no surprise that she settled in Amsterdam after coming as a fille au pair for a gap year in 2010.
In recent years, Hannah has found joy in teaching workshops to share her knowledge and expertise with others. Her love for teaching is just as strong as her passion for creating, and she will be glad to welcome you at one of her workshops.
