Throughout the workshop, Elena will unveil the secrets behind this captivating craft, sharing her expertise on basic glaze chemistry, colour mixing, application methods, firing and finishing techniques.

Elena will show you the wide array of materials available for glazing and how each one impacts the final result. The comprehensive introduction will equip you with the knowledge and confidence to embark on your own glazing journey.

Now it's time to roll up your sleeves and dive into the hands-on portion of the workshop. Don your dust mask (feel free to bring your own if you prefer), and with Elena's expert guidance, you'll cover the fundamentals of glaze making and learn how to analyse and follow a recipe. Then you will create your very own unique colour mix, applying this mixture to a clay support, you'll witness your artistic vision come to life with each brushstroke.

Once your creations are complete, Elena will take care of firing them in her kiln, ensuring that they reach their full artistic potential. You'll have the option to pick up your fired pieces a few weeks later or have Elena send them directly to you, eagerly awaiting the moment you can hold your finished creations in your hands.

As you bid farewell to this remarkable workshop, you'll leave with more than just newfound knowledge. Each participant will receive a set of clay test tiles, showcasing the vibrant colours and stunning effects you've created and your very own glaze recipe to recreate.
